Kids Privacy Policy

Hi! This page explains how Stamplo keeps your letters and info safe πŸ›‘οΈ

πŸ’Œ What We Collect

  • Your first name
  • Your birthday (we use this to make sure you're the right age β€” we never show it to other kids)
  • Your country
  • Your letters (kept safely and privately)
  • Your avatar and hobbies

πŸ›‘οΈ How We Keep You Safe

  • Your letters are locked and protected (encrypted), and only you and your grown-ups can read them
  • Your grown-ups see every letter you send and receive
  • If a letter worries you, you can report it and we will help
  • If a letter breaks the rules, it doesn't get sent
  • Your grown-ups prove they are adults to keep Stamplo safe. You never have to do this.
  • If you join through a school, club, or organisation, you will only see other kids from that group.

🚫 What We Don't Do

  • We don't track you or show ads
  • We don't sell your data
  • We don't let people message you without parent approval

🎯 Your Choices

  • Pick your own avatar and hobbies
  • Choose if you want to send or receive pictures (with parent help)
  • Ask your grown-up to delete your account if you ever want to leave

⏳ How Long We Keep Things

We keep your letters for up to 12 months. After that, they are automatically deleted. When your account is deleted, your letters are deleted too.

We do keep a simple note of things that happen on Stamplo, like "a letter was sent today" or "a letter was delivered today", so we can see how Stamplo is being used. It only saves the date and what happened. It never saves your name, your letters, or anything that points to you. Because it isn't about you, we keep these notes even after an account is deleted.

For Parents

This section is for the adults. It explains your rights under applicable children's privacy laws, including COPPA (US) and the UK Children's Code.

What we collect from your child

  • First name β€” shown to their pen pals and in Friend Finder
  • Date of birth β€” used to calculate and display your child's age to pen pals and in Friend Finder; the exact date of birth is never shown to other children
  • Country β€” shown as a flag in Friend Finder and on their profile
  • Avatar β€” a character image chosen by the child with your help
  • Hobbies β€” optional interests chosen by your child from a curated list, shown in Friend Finder
  • Letters β€” stored encrypted; visible only to the child, their pen pal, and both families' parents
  • Login PIN β€” used only to authenticate your child on shared devices; never shared

How it is used

Child data is used solely to operate the pen pal service β€” to create their profile, match them with appropriate pen pals, facilitate letter exchange, and keep the platform safe. It is never used for advertising or profiling.

Third-party sharing

We do not share your child's data with third parties for advertising or commercial purposes. Data is shared only with infrastructure providers (hosting, email delivery) operating under strict Data Processing Agreements. Your identity verification is handled by Didit Ltd (Spain, EU); Stamplo receives only a pass/fail status β€” no documents or biometrics are stored by us.

Your rights

  • Review β€” you can view all data held about your child at any time from your parent dashboard
  • Correct β€” you can update your child's name, avatar, hobbies, and other details from your child management page
  • Delete β€” you can delete your child's account and all associated data from their management page on your parent dashboard. Letters are deleted immediately; audit records are retained for the minimum period required by law
  • Withdraw consent β€” you can withdraw consent and close your family account at any time
